Leah Knight

Leah grew up in an Air Force family and is a US Army veteran herself.  Currently, she is the mother of three, grandmother of two and practices as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Eskenazi Health and Midtown Community Mental Health Center in Indianapolis and owns and operates Mama’s Pink House Antiques in Shelbyville.

Leah learned to ride when she was 19 years old, after finding herself in circumstances which warranted her to find her own way out, on more than one occasion.  She rode occasionally at that time for about two years and then not again for 21 years, when she grew tired of waiting on an invitation.  Leah is a long time member of Indiana and Florida ABATE first joining in 1982 and has served as the Shelby County LINC and Shelby County Rep for a number of years and is the Xfactor columnist; is a Charter member of the Shelbyville Eagle Riders since 2006; and a memeber of the Motor Maids since 2008, serving as assistant district director in 2011 and 2012 and formerly the district newsletter editor.  She has put over 100,000 miles on her four Harley Davidson motorcycles since 2005, two of which are antiques.  She has completed two Iron Butt challenges, both in a 6 day period riding out to Cody, Wyoming and back.  She has ridden in all but 6 continental US states and to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Canada, oftentimes on solo trips.

Leah is an avid animal lover and her hobbies include boot and antique shopping, knitting, gardening and traveling…by motorcycle!
